Our Story
We first met at Loughborough University in September 2016. We were both studying Civil Engineering and Loughborough proved to be the concrete foundation for the relationship we have since built. And just as bricks need mortar, our relationship has been strengthened over the last 10 years by love, adventure and laughter. With Chris’ truly awful/brilliant puns and Claudia’s endless 5 year plan we have become a formidable force. Just like Mott needs MacDonald and Balfour needs Beatty, Chris needs Claudia (and vice versa of course).
In August 2023, after a long time in the design and planning phase, and following a 10 mile hike on the Fife Coastal Path in Scotland, Chris got down on one knee and asked the question! So here we are now in the construction phase for our most important project yet: Building a bridge between C&C in St Maurice Church, legally, and in front of you, our nearest and dearest friends and family. We can’t wait!

Doxford Barns is situated on the Charlton Hall Estate which is accessible by car from the A1 or the B6347. Car parking is available opposite the Doxford Farm Cottages, turn left at the large stone.
The nearest (frequent service) train station is Alnmouth. You would then need a taxi to get to Doxford Barns.
The nearest airport is Newcastle International Airport.
Getting to and from the church?
We are providing a minibus which will complete 2-3 trips from Doxford Barns from 12:00 pm on Saturday. This will also bring you back after the ceremony, in time for the drinks reception!
Getting to and from the church?

Can we have more information on the cottages?
Doxford Barns has several cottages and a couple of pods which provide the perfect space for our closest family and friends to be on site for the whole weekend. Details of the cottages can be found here: More Information: Doxford Farm Cottages and the pods can be found here: More Information: Doxford Farm Pods All provide self catering options with a kitchen. We will be stocking up the cottages with breakfast, snacks and tea/coffee however if you want to bring anything else please feel free! Towels will also be provided. Once we have a confirmation on numbers, we will be in touch to tell you which room in which cottage you have been allocated.
What is a dook?
A dook is the Scottish term for a refreshing quick dip in the sea. We would love for anyone who fancies it to join us the morning of our wedding at the nearby beach for a quick dook! Please remember to bring a swimming costume and towel if you plan on joining.
